Daily REFLECTION by Inam Cyril

Submission to God’s Will

Yesterday, we celebrated the Divine Mercy of God; God’s love, favor, and forgiveness upon humanity. Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. Today God the son takes human flash and form in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary; the incarnation of our Lord. This worth unlimited rejoicing and celebration from us. This is a gift beyond our comprehension; a gift that elevates humanity to the realm of the divine. It is a glorious celebration and event of God uniting with the man. We are called therefore to rejoice in this great favor and honor upon us. The solemnity fills our heart with joy and gratitude, as we contemplate how much God loves us. It reveals the total, unconditional and complete availability of Mary setting in motion the event of our salvation. The “yes” of Mary changes everything; through it, God enters our human story through the mystery of the incarnation. In it, God does not only communicate his divine life and grace but also the glorious submissiveness of Mary to his will. Mary said “yes” to God throughout her life. She never said “no” to God at any moment. What a glorious example this is. Are we ready to say “yes” to God? Mary’s “yes” is an incredible witness to us. We are to say “yes” to God in all situations even before he asks us. Mary is our masterpiece, through her we experience God’s love. As this solemnity offers us the opportunity and privilege to say “yes” to the will of God may we never hesitate nor delay. With Mary and all the saints let us rejoice and sing to the Lord through Christ our Lord, Amen. “YOU ARE THE LIGHT” Happy Solemnity
