Kneeling In Humility Before Jesus

Humility is a characteristic of being humble. Humility is egolessness, meekness, modesty, and self-effacement.  Humility is opposite of pride. It is a gift of God. It is a virtue. Hence, we ought to pray asking God for it. There are many forms of leprosy today in our world including religious, educational, economic and political crises etc. Sickness, poverty, crimes, evil and wicked acts, hatred and jealousy, denials of people’s rights, negligence of duties and obligations in churches, families, schools and countries by the leaders, heads and the subjects are all forms of leprosy. As we have these problems, we need to come to Jesus in humility asking for his help and healing. A leper in humility came to Jesus. He knelt and begged Jesus to make him clean. He did not command Jesus to cleanse him but he dialogue with Jesus. He asked he requested. He said, “If you wish, you can make me clean.” This is a humble way of talking; a humble way of asking. Jesus moved with pity, healed him. In our world and churches today, pastors, evangelists, elders, priests and religious, prayer warriors lack humility in asking God for their needs and the needs of the people. We most often command God, we rush God, and we force God to answer our prayers. We refuse to be humble in heart and attitude. The healing of the leper came as a result of his humility and humbleness of heart. The curing of the leper shows Jesus’ authority over nature. It shows his almighty power. It shows that Jesus can heal all wounds, conditions and situations. May we always go to Jesus in humility for his healing and manifestations, in Jesus name, Amen. “YOU ARE THE LIGHT”
