Daily REFLECTION by Inam Cyril

God is omnipotent, omnipresent, Omni knowing. Nothing is impossible for God. He always loves, cares and shows concern for his flocks. He keeps them ever in mind. He provides for them their needs. When Jesus raised his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?” He said this to test him because he himself knew what he was going to do.  John 6:5-6. God always knows what he is going to do.  He always has a perfect plan for our lives. Jesus knew He was going to multiply the few loaves and fish they had and feed over five thousand people. But before he did this, he tests Philip.  Why does Jesus test Philip and why does he test us at times? It is not that Jesus was curious about what Philip will say or do, rather he wanted Philip to manifest his faith. The test enabled Philip to act on faith rather than just on human logic, reasoning and understanding alone for God’s wisdom supersedes all these. God’s wisdom brings these to a whole new level. It brings them to a level where faith in God is brought into the equation. Philip was being called to offer a solution but he fails the test.  We are called to be solutions to people’s problems as Andrew. Our words of encouragement, advice, visitation, arms giving, care, and concern etc. are all forms of solving people’s problem. But most times like Philip, we doubt the presence and power of God in our life.  We neglect and ignore the spirit of God. May we never be a disappointment to people in the predicament, condition, and situation but an instrument of God’s healing in the life of others. May the little spark of faith in us wins God’s favor and healing through Christ our Lord, Amen. “YOU ARE THE LIGHT”
